Officers, Staff & the Board of Directors

The orchestra is incorporated as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, and is governed by a group of volunteers from all over the Downriver area, who serve on the Board of Directors. This group has total responsibly of managing the business, property and affairs of the SGLS. It also establishes policy, selects personnel, approves guest artists, and approves salaries.

It has a seven member executive committee, consisting of its President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, Overture Society President, and a Board Member at Large, which can act on the Board’s behalf.
